WHAT IS SAFERHOOK?
Simply put, SaferHook is a molded, polymer guard that fits over existing 4-inch steel flat hooks on tie-down ratchet straps. We offer a simple, cost-effective solution to a problem that will save companies time and money in the long-run.
WHY USE SAFERHOOK?
Set your fleet of flatbed trailers apart from the rest! When your valuable cargo gets hit with a 1lb steel hook it frequently causes damage. A driver getting hit with a steel flat hook can result in a serious OSHA-recordable injury with stitches, MRI costs, disfigurement, lawsuits, etc. The better question is 'Why not use Saferhook?' HOW LONG WILL SAFERHOOK LAST?
Longevity will vary depending on load cycles and abuse. Our testing was done on a truck with a load cycle of 15 loads per week under a variety of weather conditions (Midwest, challenging, changing). Used properly, a Saferhook could last as long as the straps. Consider this: On our tests vehicles, which were equipped with hydraulic cranes, you could replace the SaferHook guards five times a year on ten straps and it would take twelve years to equal the cost of one hydraulic cylinder. Not to mention the potential cost of a workman's comp claim.
WHY THE RIBS?
The ribs serve two functions: The ribs act as a shock absorber to prevent the hook from bouncing back when thrown. The ribs also serve to make the polymer more flexible in the event that someone is accidentally struck. We understand that if a person is hit by a 1lb steel hook it can cause an injury and this product does not guarantee protection from any and all injury.
